Ben Cormack owns and runs Cor-Kinetic. He is a musculoskeletal therapist with a clinical background in sports therapy, rehabilitation, pain science & exercise stretching back 15 years. He specialises in a movement & exercise based approach with a strong education component and patient centred focus. The Cor-kinetic philosophy is based around an understanding of modern movement, pain and neurosciences to give a person centred approach to rehabilitation and physical training within a strong evidence based framework. They have delivered courses in Europe, Asia, USA and south America and present regularly at national and specialist subject conferences around the world.
In this conversation Ben and Kathryn talk about exercise, pain, the nervous system and a holistic approach to rehab and education. Ben speaks about the importance of seeing the whole person especially in rehabilitation, and rather than focussing on the microscopic details of exericse, we should focus on the details of the person. He talks about alignment ideas like over-pronation and whether or not these types of alignments need to be corrected. Ben talks about the evidence based approach and how we might shift our thinking about teaching movement. This conversation is also about pain science and breaking down the myths we have about pain, tissue damage, and the nervous system.
