About Squat Stronger...
Having the ability to squat down and stand up with power and ease makes many tasks of daily life easier and more enjoyable.
Gardening, pulling pots out of the lower cabinets, lifting wiggly kids, getting on the floor to play with your dog, and these are just the beginning.
Imagine not only having the strength to do daily life, but the confidence to go on that long hike. The power to run faster. The bone and muscle mass to try new things without constantly worrying about the next trip or stumble.
Squatting is challenging, because of the interplay of strength and mobility.
To squat well, the ankles, toes, knees, hips and pelvis need to be able to move with buttery ease. This program includes one weekly mobility class (recorded and delivered to you) to work on these key areas of the body.
You also get a weekly strength training class (live and recorded) to build up your lower body capacity.
How many squats can you really do in an hour-long class?
Don’t worry! This strength training session will be more than just squatting. We will do a weighted squat in every class, plus a lower leg exercise, something for the glutes and hip flexors, and we will add in a plyometric exercise for those wanting to work on their speed.
Kathryn will also include an upper body exercise for overall balance. Upper body pulling is the perfect complement to lower body pushing a.k.a. squats.
We recognize that not everyone has the same body proportions…
Kathryn will show variations for different body types. People with longer legs and longer femurs benefit from different versions of the squat than people with shorter levers. The goal of this program will be to find the squat variation/technique that works for YOU!
